Hybridizing Bearded Iris Here are a few pictures that demonstrate how to hybridize bearded iris. For this picture I opened the standards leaving the style arms with the the pollen bearing anther clearly visible.   This is the anther with pollen, plucked from the flower using tweezers.   For this picture we have removed the standards and falls to make it easier to see the style arm and stigmatic lip.  Brush the pollen across the moist stigmatic lip.     Don't forget to label your cross and record the cross somewhere!!  You are going to want to know who the parents were when you introduce your iris!!
